2020–2022

In collaboration with the Department of Protein Synthesis Enzymology at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Genetics, NAS of Ukraine, the project “Site-Directed Mutagenesis as an Innovative Approach to Investigating the Mechanisms Underlying the Emergence and Overcoming of Antibiotic Resistance in Mycobacterium tuberculosis” (No. 0120U104850) was launched with funding from the National Research Foundation of Ukraine.

2020–2022

In collaboration with the Bogomoletz Institute of Physiology, NAS of Ukraine, the project “Development and In Vivo Evaluation of Protein Kinase Cβ Inhibitors, Targeting a Key Enzyme in the Induction of Neutrophil Extracellular Traps (NETs), for the Prevention of Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS)” was launched with funding from the National Research Foundation of Ukraine.

In collaboration with the Department of Protein Synthesis Enzymology at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Genetics, NAS of Ukraine, the project “Development of Multi-Target Aminoacyl-tRNA Synthetase Inhibitors against Staphylococcus aureus and Amyloid-Sensitive Fluorescent Probes for Assessing Inhibitor Effects on Biofilms” was launched with funding from the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

In collaboration with the Department of Protein Synthesis Enzymology at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Genetics, NAS of Ukraine, the project “Development of Multi-Target Aminoacyl-tRNA Synthetase Inhibitors Using Machine-Learning Methods to Overcome Antibiotic Resistance in Mycobacterium tuberculosis” was launched with funding from the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

2017–2019

In collaboration with the Department of Protein Synthesis Enzymology at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Genetics, NAS of Ukraine, the project “Multi-Target Therapy as an Innovative Approach to Overcoming Antibiotic Resistance in Mycobacterium tuberculosis” was launched with funding from the Science and Technology Center in Ukraine (STCU).

2017

The MSCA-RISE project “Chiroptical, Optical and Magnetic Probes Based on Metal Complexes for Protein Labeling” (No. 778245) was launched under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Research and Innovation Staff Exchange program.

2015–2019

In collaboration with the Department of Protein Synthesis Enzymology at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Genetics, NAS of Ukraine, the project “Target-Based Discovery of Aminoacyl-tRNA Synthetase Inhibitors with Selective Activity against Human Infectious-Disease Pathogens” was launched within the NAS of Ukraine targeted interdisciplinary research program “Molecular and Cellular Biotechnologies for Medicine, Industry and Agriculture”.

2015–2016

A joint Ukrainian–Turkish research project supported through the bilateral National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine–TÜBİTAK grant No. 114Z464 was initiated.

2014–2015

In collaboration with the V.I. Vernadsky Institute of General and Inorganic Chemistry, NAS of Ukraine, the research project “Development of Macrocyclic Metal Complexes for the Photoinduced Destruction of Insoluble Protein Aggregates Associated with Neurodegenerative Diseases” was launched with funding from the Science and Technology Center in Ukraine (STCU).

2011–2012

In collaboration with the Institute of Biochemistry at the University of Cologne, Germany, crystallization studies of molecular complexes between human protein kinases and ATP-competitive inhibitors were initiated.

2010–2012

In collaboration with the Institute of Biochemistry and Biophysics of the Polish Academy of Sciences, joint projects were conducted to investigate the antiviral activity of protein kinase inhibitors developed by the Department.

2009

Within a joint research project with the Ophthalmology Research Laboratory at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, USA, the effects of inhibitors on cell morphology and the cytoskeleton were investigated in cultures of human astrocytes and vascular endothelial cells.

2008

In collaboration with the Institute of Genetics and Molecular Medicine at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, protein kinase inhibitors with potential antiproliferative activity were developed.

2008

In collaboration with the Biophysical Engineering Group at the University of Twente, Enschede, the Netherlands, the research project “Development of Fluorescent Dyes for the Specific Detection of Amyloid Protein Nanostructures Associated with Neurodegenerative Processes” was launched with support from the Science and Technology Center in Ukraine and the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

2005–2008

In collaboration with the Institute for Lasers, Photonics and Biophotonics in Buffalo, USA, the research project “Development of Photochemically Safe Two-Photon-Excited Fluorescent Probes for the Detection and Visualization of Biological Objects” was conducted with funding from the Science and Technology Center in Ukraine.

2005–2007

In collaboration with Bio-Rad Laboratories, a research project was conducted to develop fluorescent probes for protein detection in separation media. The resulting structures were patented: WO 2008/027821 A1, 6 March 2008.

2006

A research contract was signed with Adamed, Poland, to develop anticancer agents based on protein kinase inhibitors. Inhibitors obtained within the project were evaluated in vivo.

2004–2006

Contract research was conducted in collaboration with the Biomolecular Research Center in Princeton, USA, using virtual screening and structural modeling of the CDK2, PKC and AKT1 protein kinases.

2005

In collaboration with the Research and Development Department of Sigma-Aldrich GmbH in Buchs, Switzerland, a research project was launched to develop fluorescent probes for real-time PCR.

2003–2005

In collaboration with Sigma-Aldrich GmbH in Buchs, Switzerland, novel fluorescent probes for nucleic-acid detection were developed.

2002–2004

In collaboration with the Research and Development Department of Sigma-Aldrich GmbH in Buchs, Switzerland, novel fluorescent probes for nonspecific protein visualization in gels were developed. The resulting structures were patented: US2006207881, 21 September 2006.

2001–2002

A U.S. Department of Energy grant, supported through the Initiatives for Proliferation Prevention program, was implemented under Material Support Agreement No. B507077 between the Institute of Molecular Biology and Genetics, NAS of Ukraine, and the University of California, representing Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in Livermore, USA.

2001

Collaboration with Chromeon GmbH in Regensburg, Germany, was initiated in the field of fluorescent biomolecule labeling. In 2002, a new efficient labeling method based on pyrylium salts as amino-specific reactive groups was patented: US2003175988, 18 September 2003.
