The Department of Medicinal Chemistry of the Institute of Molecular Biology and Genetics of the NAS of Ukraine has a joint research project with the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Luhansk (LNU), which is led by Dr. Vladimir Dyachenko. The main aim of the project is the identification of novel small molecule inhibitors of protein kinases CK2 and FGFR1 for further development of pharmaceuticals.
Collaboration project consists of three parts: computer modeling and virtual screening, testing of selected compounds in vitro and chemical optimization of the most active classes of compounds. The modeling, in vitro testing and chemical optimization is performed by the Department of Medicinal Chemistry. The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry of LNU provided the compound library for research. As a result, several novel inhibitors of protein kinases CK2 and FGFR1 have been found.
The results of the collaboration will be published in the journal "Ukrainica Bioorganica Acta".
